





Call to Artists
You are hereby invited to submit your application
to display and sell your artwork at the annual Art in the Park fine arts
festival in Swartz Creek, Michigan on Saturday, August 25, 2012. The event will be held at Elms Park on Elms
Road in Swartz Creek, Michigan (Click here for a location map.) This is a juried event. You will find submission requirements below
under TO APPLY.

July 2, 2012 – Early Application.

of July 9, 2012 – First Jury

August 23, 2012 – Late Application deadline
Friday,
August 24, 2012 – Begin setting up at Noon
Saturday,
August 25, 2012 – Setup from 7:00 AM until 8:30 AM
Saturday,
August 25, 2012 – Show starts at 9:00 AM
Saturday,
August 25, 2012 – Show ends at 5:00 PM
Fees:

Early Application (on
or before July 2, 2012)
Booth: $90.00
Jury Fee: $20.00
·
Late Application (between
July 2, 2012 and August 23, 2012)
Booth $110.00
Jury Fee: $30.00
Electricity Fee: $10.00
In order to qualify for the late application you must have
a website that accurately represents your work for our jury to judge.

Your booth fee will
be refunded if the jury does not accept your application.
·
Booth fees for accepted
applications are not refundable.
·
Jury fees are not refundable.
Jury:
The
jury members will be selected in June of 2012.
Their qualifications will be as respected local artists and/or art
instructors. Their decisions are
final. Their only involvement with
this fair is as judging the applications, and possibly the best of show
award. The general criteria for acceptance are that
the artwork must be created by the applicant and have artistic merit.
What you get:
·
15’x15’ booth space
with 25’ to 30’ access aisles.
·
A limited number of
booths can receive one 120v electrical service.
There is an additional $10 charge for electricity.
·
Friday night security
through the Genesee County Sheriff Reserve.
·
Assistance with setting
up and taking down your display if needed.
·
Extensive advertising
to promote the event (Television spots, newspaper ads, signage, etc.)
·
Artist reception tent
(free beverages and snacks).
·
You will be included
in the program, which will be distributed to patrons during the event if
you are an early applicant.
·
Booth sitters will
be provided for short periods of time as needed.
·
This event will be
listed in the Sunshine
Artist magazine and website.
·
The best-of-show booth
will receive a $100 cash prize. Second
place will receive $50.00, and third place will receive $25.00. The booths will be judged at approximately
11:00 AM.
Artist’s Responsibilities:
·
Collection and payment
of Michigan Sales Tax.
·
Artists must provide
everything they need for their setup.
·
All tents and canopies
must be fire retardant.
·
Booths must be open
and staffed by the Artist during the show
hours. Booth sitters will be provided
for short periods of time.
·
All tents, canopies,
artwork, trash, equipment, etc. must be removed from the park by 8:00 PM
on the day of the event.
To apply:
· If you have website that accurately represents your work we will judge your website. Be sure to include your website address where requested.
·
If you do not have
a website then email three digital samples of your artwork and one image
of your booth (in .JPG format).
·
A website is required
for all late applicants for the purposes of judging.
·
You will receive separate
email confirmations for the payment and for receipt of the images.
·
If for any reason you
cannot make your application as outlined above please call Richard Mattson
at 810-449-3030 for special
arrangements.

Completing the application
process below makes this web page a legal agreement between you and the
Swartz Creek Kiwanis Club. We suggest you print this web page for your records.

completing the application process below I hereby declare that I have read

Club, City of Swartz Creek, GFWC Women’s Club, and Swartz Creek Chamber
of Commerce assumes no liability for loss or damage to art work or other
property for any cause, or injury to any person, that may arise from the
licensing and occupation of the exhibit space.

I understand that if
this license application is accepted I give permission to use my name /
business name, and any images I submitted, and any photographs taken at
the event of my items or me for any and all purposes.
By completing the application process below I hereby confirm my agreement to all of the conditions presented above.
