SC KIWANIS EVENTS
The Swartz Creek Kiwanis are an event driven group. Most of our functions are directly related to raising funds for local childern or spending such funds on local childern. Below, you will find a list of our group's biggest events. Click here for photos!
The Cystal Horse Show
This is our chapter's premier event! The Kiwanis Club of Swartz Creek will held its annual Horse Show for 2011 during the last weekend of July. This event has raised over $130000 to benefit children, children's groups, and senior citizens in our area over the last 24 years!
The show takes place at the Shiawassee County Fair Grounds, 2900 E. Hibbard Rd., Corunna, MI. The 2011 show was held on Friday, July 29th and Saturday, July 30st. For a map to the Fair Grounds, click here.

You may place an ad in the program, or you may choose to sponsor one of the class awards. When you purchase a sponsorship or ad you will receive free admission to the show. Additionally, with the purchase of a sponsorship you will have the opportunity to present the award to the winners of that class.

Swartz Creek Art in the Park
In an effort to bring a fine art event to the Swartz Creek and Genesee County community and to bring awareness to and engage young children in the fine arts, the Swartz Creek chapter of Kiwanis International has partnered with the Swartz Creek Area Chamber of Commerce and the Swartz Creek Women's Club to bring to you the Art in the Park art fair.
Art in the Park 2011 will be the third installment of what is becoming one of the finest annual fine art fairs in Mid-Michigan. It will be an outdoor fair held on sunny Saturday, August 27th, 2011. Patrons can expect the finest art vendors, live music, local foods, and engaging children's activities while enjoying the many comforts, joys, and experiences of Swartz Creek's famous Elms Park.

Summer Concert Series!
The Swartz Creek Fine Arts Council holds a Summer Concert Series that the Kiwanis supports. In exchange, the Swartz Creek Kiwanis can be found selling hotdogs and other concessions at the beautiful Pajtas Amphitheater in downtown Swartz Creek on Tuesdays during the summer. These summer concerts are free to the community and allow Kiwanis to do more valuable fundrasing. Though this years' series is over, check the calendar for the dates, performers, and volunteer schedule.

Lunch at the Dump!
Once a year or twice a year, the SC Kiwanis sells hot dogs a refuse yard in Genesee County for the staff. This is a fundraising endeavor that is quite effective at support local programs.

Prayer Breakfast!
The 2010 Prayer Breakfast took place on the morning of April 1st at the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. This event brings together regional Kiwanians and other community members for a time of reflection through prayer and music. Typically, the SC Kiwanis will partner with the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church for this event.

Blood Drive!
We volunteer our time and blood! Another partnership with the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church is for community blood drives with the Red Croos. SC Kiwanis volunteers assist this operation by providing time and labor. This year's event was held on June 25th!

Christmas Party!
Its a party, its for Christmas, and its for kids. Each December, the Kiwanis hold a Christmas party with all the fixings for local youth at the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. Look for more information on 2011 as the holidays approach.

Peanut Sales!
In an effort to raise funds, members of Kiwanis can be found dodging traffic along Swartz Creek's busiest corridors. If a driver comes too close, it is an unwritten rule that the Kiwanian must attempt to throw peanuts into the vehicle in exchange for money. Its sort of like Trick or Treat for adults! Look for us each fall...on payday!
